As a follow up to the third student conference “People, Projects and Perceptions – even thinking is participation!” that took place in London in October 2010, AFCEA Europe’s fourth student conference was held this year in Prague at the same time as TechNet Europe – ITTE 2012 and represented yet another opportunity for students to present short papers on subjects with international appeal focusing this time on Social Networks, one of the hottest subjects of today’s inter-connected world. At the same time, the program also allowed easy access to the TechNet key presentations and Exhibition and plenty of networking due to the fact that the venue for both TechNet Europe and the Student Conference was the same.

In 2011, in the US,  Moxie Marlinspike made a presentation in the Black Hat convention talking about SSL and the Future of authentication. In his presentation, he mentioned how authentication is made, how authentication works, the current situation with certification and a number of solutions.

..The AFCEA Student Club and the afceayouth.com Representati, GEves had the opportunity this year to be a part of an event co-organized by NATO C3 Agency and hosted by AFCEA Europe.

The annual NC3A Industry Conference was conducted under the common purpose of explaining the changes that will occur after the Declaration of the renovation of the Command Structure of the NATO Alliance.

A small preview of what will occur in the Chicago Summit in 2012, was given by the new Secretary of Defense of the United States, Mr. Leon Panetta, in his October 5th speech, in Brussels. That was a briefing for what would be discussed two weeks later in Heidelberg GE.

The trip to Heidelberg Germany for the TNI 2011 was my first experience as a member of the AFCEA Student Club and I consider it to be a LIFE CHANGING experience. It broadened my horizons with respect to the knowledge in the fields of Business and IT. During the four days of the conference, I met and interacted with people I wouldn’t have had the chance to meet from the industry and the army who were very eager to share their IT innovations and knowledge concerning the industry.

After attending a series of presentations and discussions in Heidelberg’s TechNet International (TNI 2011) and NC3A Industry Day, we wish to share our opinion and perspective of these events with the wider community!

What a wonderful city and what an amazing conference

Heidelberg is a city in south-west Germany. This baroque-style Old Town, mainly positioned at left bank of the River Neckar, is a popular tourist destination due to its romantic and picturesque cityscape, including the Heidelberg Castle and the Philosophers’ Walk.

October is here, and the AFCEA’s TechNet International 2011 is closer than ever. This year, the TNI is being held in Heidelberg, Germany, at the “Kongresshaus Stadthalle“. The exhibition center is located at the seat of Germany’s oldest university and world famous research centre for industry and science.

This year’s main theme is
“SUPPORTING NATO IN THE NEXT DECADE”.
