We are a team of individuals who are keen on information sharing and distribution of ideas. This the reason behind our involvement with AFCEA and it’s conferences. Having attended a series of conferences organized by AFCEA Europe, and realizing that not many young people are able to get to know more about the AFCEA Conferences, we decided to create this website.
Our goal is to offer every student the opportunity to take active part in the creation of a global pool of knowledge, helping us share information, without limits and boundaries.
The individual who inspired us for creating Afcea Youth is our Professor Harry Athanassopoulos.
Prof. Harry Athanassopoulos has been teaching a wide spectrum of courses at the School of Business Administration (Management, International Business & European Affairs and Computer Information Systems), Deree College, The American College of Greece since 1989. He holds a BSc in Marine Engineering from the Hellenic Naval Academy and an MSc in Operations Research from NPS Monterey, CA, USA. He is also a computer analyst and programmer in expert systems and a consultant on cybernetics, geopolitics and conscious learning.
He is a member and Associate Director of AFCEA International and Adviser of the Deree College AFCEA Student Club and he takes his best students to AFCEA TechNet-Europe and TechNet-International Symposia every year. He is often the keynote speaker at the annual AFCEA Europe Student Conference.
